2022 brings new links from abstract hyper-grunge vocalist angelicaa and UK rap outsider First Circle.
5 tracks of melodic passion and rhythmic groove with an unconventional blend of club, drill and emo. The two artists have stepped outside their comfort zone to create something quite unlike anything on the airwaves, delivering a unique and overtly London sound.
This chance collaboration was ignited after the pair were digitally introduced via Slack, amongst a community of bored, restless artists in the depths of a national lockdown.
The EP moves between manmade club and homemade soul. Raw, understated vocals and a stream of consciousness flow are seeped in hooks, poetics and puns.
Lyrically cutting and witty, angelicaa reflects upon solitude and a strange, mundane existence in trying, extraordinary times. Inner thoughts of powerlessness, hopefulness and self care maneuver a backdrop of abrasive beats, booming bass and nourishing soundscapes eloquently produced by First Circle.
