DJ Loser – Beyond Demise Review

Three months after his last Hyperactive Workouts EP, DJ Loser is back with a collection of late 2019/super early 2020 sounds, entitled Beyond Demise.

His ideas are very clear: 160 bpm, pounding kicks, hammering hi-hats and an epic aura on top. With this new release, Dj Loser sails for well-known territories, which coordinates are clearly trance, industrial techno and hardcore echoes in a dreamy and melancholic atmosphere, built up by stunning ethereal synths, almost distressful at times but always displayed with heart. The mix opens up a wide space for the listner to fit into, making the different instruments sound as if they were very far on another, almost conveying a physical experience also.

Surely of urban taste, it could probably be the perfect soundtrack for a tedious daily commute during which we brood with sour taste on something that just didn’t go the way we wished. The set of five tracks goes by like images behind a window,  fluffy, with the producer coming back to conquer the dance floor with alien and instrumental tunes. Sonic pulsations are the fertile green soil on which Dj Loser grows his own musical expressions, in conformity with his last releases.

The quality that distinguishes Dj Loser is its production in which it’s reassuring to find our own fears, alienations and solitudes and dancing over them, which should never be taken for granted. Great stuff that stands shoulder to shoulder with his recent catalogue, with the addition of acid-flavoured bass lines here and there. We really rely on you Dj Loser.
